Description:
RAINSTOP is a waterproof coating for outdoor weatherproofing of houses - walls, roofs, fences, etc.
RAINSTOP is a semi-thick, ready-to-use water-based silicone product.
RAINSTOP is applied in a thin coat(s) on a surface and cures to form a film with outstanding strength and elasticity, which neither peels nor cracks.
RAINSTOP has excellent resistance to ageing, ultra-violet and discoloration.
RAINSTOP coating is a semi-thick product, and can therefore be applied using a paintbrush, roller, spatula or trowel.
RAINSTOP offers primerless adhesion on a wide variety of building and roofing surfaces such as: metal, wood (treated or untreated) bitumen coating, tile, concrete without heating or bonding.
RAINSTOP has high elasticity even under climatic variations. It does not harden under cold conditions. It is therefore unnecessary to use reinforcing tape in most cases.
RAINSTOP has very high stability to temperature variations (from 50°C to +120°C), to UV radiation and to external chemical attack. Due to its Rhodalis Technology,

Surface preparation:
The surfaces must be clean, free from dust, grease and any substance that may affect product adhesion. Surfaces should be degreased either with hot water or with a pad soaked in solvent followed by wiping with a clean cloth. All loose materials must be removed by brushing, scraping or with high pressure water. For ferrous materials, it is advisable to initially apply an anti-rust paint. New concrete and mortars must be at least 28 days old.
Product application:
Mix the product well before using. RAINSTOP is applied using a brush, roller, spatula or trowel in either one or more coats. Excess uncured product and tools should be cleaned with water.
Drying and curing:
The product can be considered tack free 2 hours after its application (at a temperature of 23°C and a relative humidity of 50%) Three hours after application RAINSTOP is capable of resisting heavy rain without any consequences. However, if it rains too hard and too quickly after application, the latter will still be partly water dispersible and may be washed away in the run-off.
Painting:
A pre-test is recommended on a small surface.
Coverage:
It depends on the surface porosity and roughness as well as the nature of the parts to be treated. For a 1mm coating, the consumption is 1.2 Litres/m2.
RAINSTOP coating should not be used when temperatures of less than 0°C are expected in the 24 hours following application. Ideally, RAINSTOP must not be used in rainy weather or before a rain shower. The higher the air hygrometry and the lower the temperature, the slower RAINSTOP dries. This means that during periods of high humidity, it is recommended not to apply one coat on top of another until the previous one has fully dried. RAINSTOP is not recommended for use on materials where migration of components can take place RAINSTOP must not be used to seal roofs with a slope of less than 5%. RAINSTOP must not be used in cases of high and heavy circulation. RAINSTOP must not be used for repair work in ponds or swimming pools
Packaging:
RAINSTOP has a shelf life of 12 months, guaranteed by Rhodia Silicones, from its date of manufacture (the expiry date is shown on the packaging) when stored at a temperature between + 2°C and + 30°C in its original, unopened packaging. In laboratory tests with Rhodalis Technology products, the products did not show skin or eye irritation or sensitisation. Tests revealed no acute oral or skin toxicity. After curing the product is neither irritant nor sensitising.
RAINSTOP is not environmentally toxic in any way. Once cured the product can be eliminated either by burning or by disposing of it properly to a waste tip. However, it is necessary to comply with normal precautions when applying the product and to follow the Safety Data Sheet instructions. In the case of contact with the skin or eyes, rinse abundantly with water and consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children
